Горчичное июльское утро
ничего не предвещало,
кроме тесного зноя,
жжёной резины и танцующих ос
над клочьями сахарной ваты,
разметанной на пепелище
ушедшего цирка.
Как было вчера.

Горчичное июльское солнце
слепило в окна,
выжигало глаза
нам, вечно усталым и спящим.

И мы, умывая восковые лица,
лениво удивились,
решили,
что на плечи осыпается пепел
иссохшего лета,
но, почувствовав колкий холод,
поняли,
что это снег.

И я, разбуженный,
застывший морской фигурой
в сверкающем белом крошеве,
тающем на копчёной коже,
вдруг решил написать родителям
(туда, в застуженное прошлое),
застрявшим в северном посёлке,
где в июле
снег
под окнами.

Метель растворилась на противне улиц,
оставив грязную влагу
и черничное небо
каждому,
кто не успел проснуться
в это горчичное утро.

Mustard july morning
Fortold nothing
But a cramping heat,
Burnt rubber and dancing wasps
Above the flocks of candyfloss,
Swept over the ashes
Of long gone circus.
As it was yesterday.

Mustard july sun
Blinded through windows
Burned eyes
Of us, eternally tired and sleeping.

And we, washing wax faces
Got surprised
Decided
That shoulders are covering by the dust
Of drenched summer
But touched by piercing cold
We understood
That this is snow

And I, awakened
Standing still as the figure of the sea
In shining white hash
Melting on dried skin
Suddenly decided to write to parents
(There, in frozen past)
Stuck in a snow-covered village
There July’s filled with
Snow under windows.

The snowstorm dissolved on the frying pan of streets
Left wet dirt
And blueberry sky
To every one
Who did not wake up
This mustard morning.
